I am still trying to get in contact with the couple who makes natural soap at their home. The process takes a few days and is made in large quantities, so it would be interesting to get the 5 pts. through all the different steps of the process.
I am tracking down as many people and resources as possible to find a person with an eating disorder willing to tell their story through pictures. I realize this is a very sensitive subject, and must be approached slowly. I am trying to contact a few nutritionists and psychologists I have been to before that specialize in that area, as well as a few girls I know who have gone through it before. I am very interested in doing this, so will continue to try and make contacts even if I don't gain access until much later.
I went on a drive Saturday in search on an Amish community that I thought is located between here and Moberly. So far not much luck, but if I get time again next weekend I'll go out again. I grew up in Northern, IL and Wisconsin around some Amish communities. The lifestyle fascinates me and would be so interesting to photograph. I do know that in some parts, they don't allow photographs though.
My other plan I'm waiting to hear about is the Damascus Rd. story that ran in the paper Sunday. It is a couple in Herman who allowed the old school they bought to be turned into a ministry for young people who skate board. The skateboarders kept breaking in and skating so the couple decided to use it to tell them about God. I have talked to the reporter a few times about ti because it is so different and interesting. The pictures taken by the reporter on a point and shoot were simply not sufficient to capture the personality and action of the place. I would love to go back and really tell the story through photographs and meet some of the kids. I think there is so much more there than what was told.
I got a late start last week on finding more ideas since I was completely booked most of the week. So I tried to track down and find as many things this weekend.
